Recently, we launched the new ftrack Connect Framework to enhance creative industry pipelines with a modern, scalable solution for powerful integrations. This new framework simplifies the process of incorporating your DCC tools into your ftrack pipeline, complete with out-of-the-box support for Photoshop, Maya, and Nuke.
Now, we’re pleased to extend this support to SideFX Houdini and Adobe Premiere Pro—two industry-leading software solutions for 2D animation, 3D procedural creation, and video editing, respectively. ToonBoom Harmony is available via the Plugin Manager as a pre-release, and we hope to make this generally available and fully supported by the end of the year.
You can install these integrations via the Plugin Manager inside of Connect, today. These integrations let users publish their working files for review, feedback, and iteration directly from their creative apps, so they can stay immersed in their creative process.
And these integrations are just the beginning—with the new Connect Framework, you can customize, extend, and adapt them to fit your unique needs.
Let’s explore the integrations in more detail.
Built on the new ftrack Connect Framework, the new ftrack Studio integrations enable a smooth review and approval process. Artists can easily publish their work—whether it’s a 2D animation, an FX shot, or a video edit—directly to ftrack Studio for review, all without leaving their creative app of choice, thanks to the framework being available within the DCC.
Artists can also open previously published versions within their DCCs to respond to feedback and create the next iteration. (Please note that the Opener functionality is currently available in Premiere Pro and Houdini, with Harmony support coming soon!)
But remember! While these integrations offer robust functionality based on the ftrack Connect Framework, they’re also designed to be flexible. If you want to integrate ftrack review and approval workflows into your DCCs, these integrations have you covered. If you want to use the new Framework to extend them with features unique to your workflow, then you can do so. The power is in your hands!
