ftrack has launched a new carbon offset scheme to compensate for emissions caused by company travel. This is the first step of many in making ftrack a more environmentally friendly and climate conscious organisation.
Carbon offsetting at ftrack
As a global company, ftrack must occasionally travel around the world to visit customers, attend trade shows and meet team members. Although necessary in the context of making ftrack a better and more capable product, these trips can often consume a great deal of energy and leave a large carbon footprint.
We wanted to lessen the impact of the carbon dioxide pollution caused by these trips by reducing the same amount of pollution being caused elsewhere.
To do so, we have launched a new carbon offsetting initiative at ftrack. ftrack now matches any carbon offsets from our employees for company trips, with a focus on offsets that invest in renewable energy solutions. We are also invested in a scheme with Scandinavian Airlines, through which any SAS ftrack trip will be made carbon neutral by the airline.
Working with Google Cloud
Furthermore, we intend to continue working with companies that share a common interest in lessening their impact on the environment.
ftrack’s infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud, which matches 100% of the energy consumed by its global operations with renewable energy.
We are living in a critical time for our planet and the environment which it sustains. We believe all companies have a responsibility to mitigate the effect that they have on the planet – especially in the creative industries where our efforts and output should be for the good of all involved.
We intend for this to be but the first step of many in doing our part for the future generations of people to come.
