Since releasing version 3.5 last summer which introduced the Overview feature, we’ve added a host of changes, making it one of our largest releases to date.

We’re currently in the process of rolling out 3.5.27 which will be the final update to 3.5. Looking ahead, we’re making the final touches to 3.6 which you can expect to hear more about in the coming weeks.

Two minor updates for developers to be aware of:

  1. To help with accessing the most relevant downloads for the API, we’ve removed the link to download the legacy API from the System Settings > About page. You can still download the legacy API from <your-ftrack-server-url>/python-api.tar or from the git repository https://bitbucket.org/ftrack/ftrack-python-legacy-api/.

2. Another update which only applies for local installations, we’ve made a change to the FFmpeg encoding resolution and bitrate which can now be configured via the configuration options ftrack.ffmpeg_video_resolution and ftrack.ffmpeg_video_bitrate. The default max resolution is 720 and bitrate is 2000. Both settings are integers and can now be changed to your requirements.
